Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed the 10th Class examination or equivalent under the 10+2 examination system from a recognized Board.
- A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Matriculation is required.
- Candidates must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
Training Period & Stipend
The training period and stipend will be governed by the applicable rules and directives issued by the Railway Board from time to time.

Important: Apprenticeship training does not confer any right to regular employment in Railways after completion of training. Hostel accommodation will not be provided.
Selection Process
Selection will be made on the basis of merit. No written examination is prescribed in the notification.
- Merit list based on the simple average of Matriculation percentage and ITI marks in the relevant trade.
- If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be considered first.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification / scrutiny.
- Final engagement will be subject to verification of original certificates and prescribed medical fitness.

Important Instructions for Candidates

- Enrollment with the Employment Exchange is required as stated in the notification, except for wards of RCF/Kapurthala employees.
