Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational / technical qualification from a recognized University or Institute on or before 13 September 2026. Candidates waiting for final results of the required qualification are not eligible.

Medical Standards
The applicable medical standard differs by JE / DMS post. Annexure-A contains post-wise standards such as A-3, B-1, B-2 and C-1. Candidates should check eyesight, colour vision and other medical requirements before giving post preferences.
Important: Candidates found medically unsuitable for an opted post will not be given an alternative appointment merely on that ground. Candidates should therefore select only posts for which they satisfy the required medical standard.
RRB JE Selection Process 2026
- 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I)

CBT-I is a screening examination. Candidates for CBT-II will normally be shortlisted up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies of posts notified against the RRB, based on normalized CBT-I marks. Candidates for Document Verification will be shortlisted on CBT-II merit and options, generally equal to the number of vacancies.

Live Photograph & Signature Rules
- A pre-existing photograph is not uploaded; the application portal captures a live photograph during application.
- Candidates should not wear cap, mask or spectacles while capturing the live photograph.
- Signature must be in black ink on white paper and in running handwriting.
- The signature JPG/JPEG file should meet the size and dimension specifications prescribed in the CEN.
How to Apply for RRB JE Recruitment 2026
- Visit the official application portal at rrbapply.gov.in.
- Open CEN No. 04/2026 – JE / DMS.
- Create an RRB account. If you already created an account for an earlier RRB CEN, use the same account credentials.
- Authenticate identity through Aadhaar / DigiLocker where possible.
- Choose only one RRB. The chosen RRB cannot be changed later.
- Enter personal, educational, category and qualification details carefully.
- Select eligible Railway Zone / Production Unit and post preferences.
- Capture the live photograph and upload the prescribed signature / documents.
- Pay the applicable examination fee online.
- Review the application carefully and submit it by 13 September 2026 at 23:59 hours.
- Save / print the submitted application confirmation for future reference.
Application Modification
After final submission and fee payment, permitted details can be modified during 16–25 September 2026 by paying a ₹250 non-refundable modification fee per occasion. Details entered in the Create an Account form, including mobile number/email, and the Chosen RRB cannot be changed.
