SSC CPO 2026 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 20 Years for all posts except SI (Fire) in CISF

- For posts other than SI (Fire), eligible DOB range is 02 August 2001 to 01 August 2006.

Paper-I Duration: 1 Hour.
There is a 15-minute sectional timer for each part.
Therefore, candidates get 15 minutes each for Reasoning, General Knowledge
& General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
Paper-II Timing: The notification provides
20 minutes for each of the first three parts
(Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude)
under a 1-hour sectional block, followed by a separate
1-hour English Comprehension part.
Thus, the Paper-II examination duration is 2 Hours.
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in
Paper-I and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
Question Type: Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Parts-I, II and III are set in Hindi and English as prescribed by SSC.

SI in CAPFs and SI (Fire) in CISF are classified as Group ‘B’
(Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial), while SI (Executive) in Delhi Police
is classified as Group ‘C’.
SSC CPO 2026 Selection Process
- Paper-I: Computer Based Examination. Candidates must secure the prescribed minimum qualifying marks and SSC may apply sectional/category-wise cut-offs.
- PST/PET: Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test. These tests are mandatory and qualifying in nature. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET but must undergo PST.
- Paper-II: Computer Based Examination focusing on the notified subjects including English Comprehension. Candidates qualifying the PST/PET are eligible for Paper-II.
- DME/RME & Document Verification: Medical examination and document verification are qualifying stages. Final selection and force/post allocation are based on Paper-II performance and the post/force preferences submitted by candidates, subject to applicable requirements.
Minimum qualifying marks:
UR – 30%, OBC/EWS – 25%, and all other categories – 20% in Paper-I and
Paper-II, excluding applicable NCC bonus marks.

- Matriculation / Secondary Certificate.

- Caste / Category / EWS Certificate, wherever applicable.
- Valid Driving Licence for Motorcycle and Car for male candidates opting for Delhi Police.

How to Apply for SSC CPO 2026
- Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in/
- Complete the required One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website if not already registered.
- Login using your Registration Number and Password and select Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026.
- Enter your educational, category, age, examination centre and other required details carefully.
- Complete the live photograph and signature requirements and pay the applicable application fee online.
- Submit the application form, verify all details through the preview option and keep a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
SSC CPO 2026 Important Instructions
- The last date for submission of the online application is 30 September 2026 at 23:00 hrs.
- The application correction window will remain available from 08 October to 10 October 2026, up to 23:00 hrs.
- Male candidates seeking consideration for Delhi Police must have a valid LMV Driving Licence on the date fixed for PST/PET.
- PST/PET does not carry marks and is qualifying/elimination in nature. Male PET includes 100 metres in 16 seconds, 1.6 km in 6.5 minutes, Long Jump 3.65 metres, High Jump 1.2 metres and Shot Put 4.5 metres. Female PET includes 100 metres in 18 seconds, 800 metres in 4 minutes, Long Jump 2.7 metres and High Jump 0.9 metres.
- Final post/force preference is important. Once exercised, the preference is treated as final and irreversible as per the notification.
Physical Standards: For Delhi Police/CAPFs, the notified
height standards vary by gender and eligible categories. For general
candidates, the standard is 170 cm for males with 80–85 cm chest and
157 cm for females. Relaxations are available for specified categories
as per the official notification.
