India Post GDS Job Profile

  • BPM: Responsible for day-to-day postal operations of the Branch Post Office, India Post Payments Bank services, mail conveyance and delivery, marketing and customer service activities.
  • ABPM: Performs postal operations including sale of stamps and stationery, mail delivery, IPPB transactions and assists the BPM in Branch Post Office activities.
  • Dak Sevak: May work in Post Offices, Sorting Offices, Mail Offices, Transit Mail Offices and Delivery Centres and perform mail handling, delivery and other assigned postal duties.

India Post GDS Selection Process

  1. System-Generated Merit List: Shortlisting is based on marks / converted grades of the Class 10th Secondary School Examination, aggregated to four decimal places.
  2. Tie-Breaking: In case of a tie, the Department will apply the prescribed priority criteria including date of birth and category/gender sequence mentioned in the notification.
  3. Physical Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must report to the designated Divisional / Unit Head with the required original documents.
  4. Pre-Engagement Formalities: Candidates who successfully complete document verification will receive the provisional engagement offer and must complete the prescribed joining formalities.
  5. Final Engagement: Engagement will be finalized after completion of prescribed verification and other formalities.

  2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) using an active mobile number and email ID.
  3. Enter your personal and Class 10th educational details exactly as mentioned in the matriculation marksheet.
  4. Login with the registration number and password and open the online application form.
  5. Select the eligible Postal Circle / Division and give preferences for available Post IDs.
  6. Upload the recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
